Since 1997, SIA “Kristāla Kurpīte” has specialized in design and production of leather shoes to individual order and in the repair of other leather goods.
Founder Andris Kačkāns has been a master of his craft for more than 40 years and is a certified custom shoe maker.
Leather shoes are Andris's passion and calling. Together with his team, he can make shoes based on your photos, sketches and designs.
During the Song and Dance Festival, the workshop is as busy as a beehive. Even in quieter seasons, we welcome folk dance groups, choirs, folklore groups, ensembles who wish to complete their national, ethnographic, or historical costumes with handcrafted leather shoes, boots or pastalas.
The city of Rēzekne awarded its highest honor, the “Honorary Citizen of Rēzekne 2022,” to Andris Kačkāns, founder and master craftsman at SIA “Kristāla Kurpīte.” This award recognizes his long-term professional dedication, entrepreneurship, preservation and development of historic craft traditions, contributions to employment, and his promotion of the names of Rēzekne, Latgale and Latvia.
